Linda steps off of the airplane with her carry-on bag, arriving in South Korea for the very first time. She is working as an English teacher for preschool children at a school in Seoul, S. Korea. Though Linda has never traveled to South Korea or speak Korean fluently, she wants to try something new and completely out of her comfort zone.
She is nervous but also excited about this major life change. Not only can she help children in another country but she also can widen her own perspective by immersing herself in a culture she isn’t familiar with. Linda walks to the baggage claim to wait for the rest of her luggage to arrive. The airport buzzes with various languages, but most prominently Korean. She tries to listen to a nearby conversation to test her Korean listening skills. She is able to understand the basics, which makes her even more thrilled about the new journey she is about to embark on.
