SCENE: The entrance hall of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on a Saturday afternoon. Two sisters stand near a large wall map, planning their visit. The museum is bustling with visitors.

MAYA: I’m so happy we’re finally doing this! It’s been forever since we’ve hung out.

RILEY: I know, right? Thanks for suggesting the Met. I haven’t been here in ages!

MAYA: So, where should we start? This place is huge!

RILEY: Let me see the map… I always like to start with the old stuff and work my way forward. How about the Egyptian Art section first?

MAYA: Yes! I love Egyptian art. The mummies are so cool.

RILEY: Same! They’re always my favorite part.

MAYA: Then we can head up to the third floor for the Renaissance paintings.

RILEY: Perfect! And on the way down, we should stop at the second floor. That’s where the Impressionists are. I love Monet.

MAYA: Ooh, me too! Okay, so Egyptian, Renaissance, then Impressionists. Sounds like a plan!

RILEY: Great! Should we—

MAYA: Actually, wait. I’m getting kind of hungry. Want to grab a snack at the café first?

RILEY: Sure! The mummies aren’t going anywhere, right?

MAYA: Exactly! Come on, let’s go!

They walk toward the museum café, laughing.

27. At the Art Gallery 27. Na Galeria de Arte

SCENE: The entrance hall of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on a Saturday afternoon. Two sisters stand near a large wall map, planning their visit. The museum is bustling with visitors. CENA: O hall de entrada do Museu Metropolitano de Arte na cidade de Nova York em uma tarde de sábado. Duas irmãs estão perto de um grande mapa de parede, planejando sua visita. O museu está cheio de visitantes.

MAYA: I’m so happy we’re finally doing this! It’s been forever since we’ve hung out. MAYA: Estou tão feliz que finalmente estamos fazendo isso! Faz uma eternidade desde que saímos juntas.

RILEY: I know, right? Thanks for suggesting the Met. I haven’t been here in ages! RILEY: Eu sei, né? Obrigada por sugerir o Met. Não venho aqui há séculos!

MAYA: So, where should we start? This place is huge! MAYA: Então, por onde devemos começar? Este lugar é enorme!

RILEY: Great! Should we— RILEY: Ótimo! Devemos—

MAYA: Actually, wait. I’m getting kind of hungry. Want to grab a snack at the café first? MAYA: Na verdade, espera. Estou ficando meio com fome. Quer pegar um lanche no café primeiro?

RILEY: Sure! The mummies aren’t going anywhere, right? RILEY: Claro! As múmias não vão a lugar nenhum, né?

MAYA: Exactly! Come on, let’s go! MAYA: Exatamente! Vamos lá, bora!

They walk toward the museum café, laughing. Elas caminham em direção ao café do museu, rindo.
