SCENE: Downtown on a Saturday afternoon. Kim and Emma are standing on a street corner, looking at a paper map and their phones, clearly lost.

KIM: I can’t find this museum anywhere. Where is it?

EMMA: I have no idea. This map is so confusing!

KIM: Should we just ask someone?

EMMA: Yeah, let’s do that. There’s someone right there.

Kim approaches a woman walking by.

KIM: Excuse me, sorry! Do you happen to know where the History Museum is?

SARAH: The History Museum? Sure! You’re actually pretty close.

KIM: Oh, great!

SARAH: Okay, so from here, you’re gonna walk four blocks west—that’s in that direction. Then you’ll see a McDonald’s on the corner. Turn right there.

EMMA: Four blocks west, then right at McDonald’s. Got it.

SARAH: Exactly. After that, go straight for two more blocks, and the museum will be on your right. You can’t miss it—it’s a huge building with white columns.

KIM: That’s super helpful! Thank you so much!

SARAH: You’re welcome! Enjoy the museum!

KIM: Thanks! Have a nice day!SARAH: You too!

22. Asking Directions to the Museum 22. Perguntando Direções para o Museu

SCENE: Downtown on a Saturday afternoon. Kim and Emma are standing on a street corner, looking at a paper map and their phones, clearly lost. CENA: Centro da cidade em uma tarde de sábado. Kim e Emma estão paradas em uma esquina, olhando um mapa de papel e seus telefones, claramente perdidas.

KIM: I can’t find this museum anywhere. Where is it? KIM: Não consigo encontrar este museu em lugar nenhum. Onde ele está?

EMMA: I have no idea. This map is so confusing! EMMA: Não faço ideia. Este mapa é tão confuso!

KIM: Should we just ask someone? KIM: Deveríamos apenas perguntar para alguém?

EMMA: Yeah, let’s do that. There’s someone right there. EMMA: Sim, vamos fazer isso. Tem alguém bem ali.

KIM: Excuse me, sorry! Do you happen to know where the History Museum is? KIM: Com licença, desculpa! Por acaso você sabe onde fica o Museu de História?

SARAH: The History Museum? Sure! You’re actually pretty close. SARAH: O Museu de História? Claro! Vocês estão na verdade bem perto.

KIM: Oh, great! KIM: Ah, ótimo!

SARAH: Ok, então daqui, vocês vão caminhar quatro quarteirões para oeste—é naquela direção. Depois vocês vão ver um McDonald’s na esquina. Virem à direita ali.

EMMA: Four blocks west, then right at McDonald’s. Got it. EMMA: Quatro quarteirões para oeste, depois à direita no McDonald’s. Entendi.

Depois disso, sigam reto por mais dois quarteirões, e o museu estará à sua direita. Vocês não vão errar—é um prédio enorme com colunas brancas.
