SCENE: Inside a busy department store on a Saturday morning. Michelle and Jane are walking through the women’s clothing section, browsing through racks of clothes.

MICHELLE: Hey, I’m going shopping for some new clothes today. Want to come with me?

JANE: Yes! I’d love to! I actually need to pick up a few things too.

MICHELLE: Perfect! So, first I want to find a new skirt. What color do you think would look good on me?

JANE: Hmm… I think plaid would really suit you. What about this one?

MICHELLE: I like the style, but it’s way too short for me!

JANE: Oh, you’re right. How about this one then?

MICHELLE: Ooh, I really like that one! I’m gonna try it on.

Michelle goes to the fitting room and comes out wearing the skirt.

JANE: That looks amazing on you! But… it might be a little tight.

MICHELLE: Yeah, I think so too. Let me see if they have it in a bigger size.

Michelle waves to a salesperson passing by.

MICHELLE: Excuse me, do you have this skirt in a size up?

SALESPERSON: Sure, let me check in the back for you.

MICHELLE: Thanks!

The salesperson returns a minute later.

SALESPERSON: Here you go! This is actually the last one we have.

MICHELLE: Oh, perfect! Thank you so much!

JANE: You know what? That’s going to look great with the blouse I got you last week. They’ll match perfectly!

MICHELLE: I know, right? I can’t wait to try them on together! So, is there anything you need to get?

JANE: Yeah, I need a new sweater. Winter’s coming and I don’t have anything warm enough.

MICHELLE: Oh, they have tons of sweaters here! I know exactly where they are. Follow me!

They walk over to the sweater section.

JANE: Great! I’m looking for something really warm. What about this one?

MICHELLE: Well… it looks warm, but it’s not very stylish.

JANE: Yeah, you’re probably right.

MICHELLE: Try this one instead. It’s super stylish and warm!

JANE: Oh wow, that one is nice! How much is it?

MICHELLE: Let me check… oh my gosh, it’s pretty expensive!

JANE: Maybe we should check other stores and see if we can find it cheaper.

MICHELLE: Good idea! I know a place that might have it for less.JANE: Alright, let’s go!

20. At the Department Store 20. Na Loja de Departamentos

SCENE: Inside a busy department store on a Saturday morning. Michelle and Jane are walking through the women’s clothing section, browsing through racks of clothes. CENA: Dentro de uma loja de departamentos movimentada em uma manhã de sábado. Michelle e Jane estão caminhando pela seção de roupas femininas, olhando araras de roupas.

MICHELLE: Hey, I’m going shopping for some new clothes today. Want to come with me? MICHELLE: Ei, vou fazer compras de roupas novas hoje. Quer vir comigo?

JANE: Yes! I’d love to! I actually need to pick up a few things too. JANE: Sim! Adoraria! Na verdade eu também preciso pegar algumas coisas.

MICHELLE: Perfect! So, first I want to find a new skirt. What color do you think would look good on me? MICHELLE: Perfeito! Então, primeiro quero encontrar uma saia nova. Que cor você acha que ficaria boa em mim?

JANE: Hmm… I think plaid would really suit you. What about this one? JANE: Hmm… Acho que xadrez cairia muito bem em você. Que tal esta?

MICHELLE: I like the style, but it’s way too short for me! MICHELLE: Gosto do estilo, mas é muito curta para mim!

JANE: Oh, you’re right. How about this one then? JANE: Ah, você está certa. Que tal esta então?

MICHELLE: Ooh, I really like that one! I’m gonna try it on. MICHELLE: Ooh, eu realmente gosto desta! Vou experimentar.

Michelle goes to the fitting room and comes out wearing the skirt. Michelle vai ao provador e sai vestindo a saia.

JANE: That looks amazing on you! But… it might be a little tight. JANE: Fica incrível em você! Mas… pode estar um pouco apertada.

MICHELLE: Yeah, I think so too. Let me see if they have it in a bigger size. MICHELLE: É, eu também acho. Deixa eu ver se eles têm em um tamanho maior.

Michelle waves to a salesperson passing by. Michelle acena para um vendedor passando.

MICHELLE: Excuse me, do you have this skirt in a size up? MICHELLE: Com licença, vocês têm esta saia em um tamanho acima?

SALESPERSON: Sure, let me check in the back for you. VENDEDOR: Claro, deixa eu verificar nos fundos para você.

MICHELLE: Thanks! MICHELLE: Obrigada!

The salesperson returns a minute later. O vendedor retorna um minuto depois.

SALESPERSON: Here you go! This is actually the last one we have. VENDEDOR: Aqui está! Esta é na verdade a última que temos.

MICHELLE: Oh, perfect! Thank you so much! MICHELLE: Ah, perfeito! Muito obrigada!

JANE: You know what? That’s going to look great with the blouse I got you last week. They’ll match perfectly! JANE: Sabe de uma coisa? Vai ficar ótimo com a blusa que te dei semana passada. Vão combinar perfeitamente!

MICHELLE: I know, right? I can’t wait to try them on together! So, is there anything you need to get? MICHELLE: Eu sei, né? Mal posso esperar para experimentá-las juntas! Então, tem algo que você precisa pegar?

They walk over to the sweater section. Elas caminham até a seção de suéteres.

JANE: Great! I’m looking for something really warm. What about this one? JANE: Ótimo! Estou procurando algo realmente quente. Que tal este?

MICHELLE: Well… it looks warm, but it’s not very stylish. MICHELLE: Bem… parece quente, mas não é muito estiloso.

JANE: Yeah, you’re probably right. JANE: É, você provavelmente está certa.

MICHELLE: Try this one instead. It’s super stylish and warm! MICHELLE: Experimenta este em vez disso. É super estiloso e quente!

JANE: Oh wow, that one is nice! How much is it? JANE: Ah uau, esse é bonito! Quanto custa?

JANE: Maybe we should check other stores and see if we can find it cheaper. JANE: Talvez devêssemos verificar outras lojas e ver se conseguimos encontrá-lo mais barato.

JANE: Alright, let’s go! JANE: Certo, vamos lá!
