[Kitchen. Mom is gathering ingredients. Brady walks in after school]

Brady: Hey Mom! Need any help?

Mom: Sure! I’m making soup for lunch. Want to help?

Brady: What kind of soup?

Mom: Cream of potato. Your favorite! Can you wash and peel these potatoes for me?

Brady: Yes! I love potato soup, especially with sour cream on top.

Mom: When we make it together, it always tastes better, doesn’t it?

Brady: Totally! Okay, potatoes are done. What’s next?

Mom: Can you hand me that big pot? I need to get the water boiling.

Brady: Here. What else can I do?

Mom: Now we just wait for the potatoes to cook. Then we’ll add salt, pepper, onions, garlic, and milk.

Brady: Mmm, I’m getting hungry already! How long until it’s ready?

Mom: About an hour.

Brady: An hour? Can I have a snack while we wait?

Mom: Of course! There are some crackers in the pantry.

Brady: Thanks, Mom! This is fun.Mom: I’m glad you’re helping!

[Kitchen. Mom is gathering ingredients. Brady walks in after school] [Cozinha. Mãe está reunindo ingredientes. Brady entra depois da aula]

Brady: Hey Mom! Need any help? Brady: Ei mãe! Precisa de ajuda?

Mom: Sure! I’m making soup for lunch. Want to help? Mãe: Claro! Estou fazendo sopa para o almoço. Quer ajudar?

Brady: What kind of soup? Brady: Que tipo de sopa?

Mom: Cream of potato. Your favorite! Can you wash and peel these potatoes for me? Mãe: Creme de batata. Sua favorita! Você pode lavar e descascar essas batatas para mim?

Brady: Yes! I love potato soup, especially with sour cream on top. Brady: Sim! Eu amo sopa de batata, especialmente com creme azedo por cima.

Mom: When we make it together, it always tastes better, doesn’t it? Mãe: Quando fazemos juntos, sempre fica mais gostoso, não é?

Brady: Totally! Okay, potatoes are done. What’s next? Brady: Totalmente! Ok, as batatas estão prontas. O que vem depois?

Mom: Can you hand me that big pot? I need to get the water boiling. Mãe: Você pode me passar aquela panela grande? Preciso colocar a água para ferver.

Brady: Here. What else can I do? Brady: Aqui está. O que mais posso fazer?

Mom: Now we just wait for the potatoes to cook. Then we’ll add salt, pepper, onions, garlic, and milk. Mãe: Agora só esperamos as batatas cozinharem. Então vamos adicionar sal, pimenta, cebolas, alho e leite.

Brady: Mmm, I’m getting hungry already! How long until it’s ready? Brady: Mmm, já estou ficando com fome! Quanto tempo até ficar pronto?

Mom: About an hour. Mãe: Cerca de uma hora.

Brady: An hour? Can I have a snack while we wait? Brady: Uma hora? Posso comer um lanche enquanto esperamos?

Mom: Of course! There are some crackers in the pantry. Mãe: Claro! Há alguns biscoitos na despensa.

Brady: Thanks, Mom! This is fun. Brady: Obrigado, mãe! Isso é divertido.

Mom: I’m glad you’re helping! Mãe: Estou feliz que você está ajudando!
