SCENE: The lobby of a local theater on a Saturday afternoon. A customer approaches the ticket window where a cashier sits behind a glass partition with a computer and card reader.

ALEX: Hi! I’d like two tickets for tonight’s show, please.

CASHIER: Sure! What section would you prefer?

ALEX: What options do you have?

CASHIER: We have orchestra, mezzanine, and balcony seats. The orchestra is closest to the stage.

ALEX: How much are the orchestra seats?

CASHIER: Those are $45 each.

ALEX: Okay, I’ll take two orchestra seats.

CASHIER: Perfect. That’ll be $90 total. Do you happen to have a student ID?

ALEX: Yeah, I do! Does that get me a discount?

CASHIER: It does! Students get 20% off. So your new total is $72.

ALEX: Oh, awesome! Here’s my card.

Alex hands over the credit card.

CASHIER: Great, just give me one second.

The cashier processes the payment and prints the tickets.

CASHIER: Alright, here are your tickets. You’re in row F, seats 12 and 13. The show starts at 7:30, but I’d recommend getting here about 15 minutes early.

ALEX: Perfect! Is there any food or drinks inside?

CASHIER: Yes, there’s a concession stand in the lobby. You can bring drinks and snacks into the theater.

ALEX: Great, thank you so much!

CASHIER: You’re welcome! Enjoy the show!

32. At the Box Office 32. Na Bilheteria

SCENE: The lobby of a local theater on a Saturday afternoon. A customer approaches the ticket window where a cashier sits behind a glass partition with a computer and card reader. CENA: O saguão de um teatro local em uma tarde de sábado. Um cliente se aproxima da janela de ingressos onde um caixa está sentado atrás de uma divisória de vidro com um computador e leitor de cartão.

ALEX: Hi! I’d like two tickets for tonight’s show, please. ALEX: Oi! Gostaria de dois ingressos para o show de hoje à noite, por favor.

CASHIER: Sure! What section would you prefer? CAIXA: Claro! Qual seção você prefere?

ALEX: What options do you have? ALEX: Quais opções você tem?

CASHIER: We have orchestra, mezzanine, and balcony seats. The orchestra is closest to the stage. CAIXA: Temos assentos de plateia, mezanino e balcão. A plateia é a mais próxima do palco.
