SCENE: Inside a local pharmacy on a weekday evening. A customer approaches the counter looking concerned. The pharmacist is organizing medication bottles behind the counter.
MARCUS: Hi, excuse me. Can you help me with something?
PHARMACIST: Of course! What do you need?
MARCUS: My girlfriend has the flu and she’s feeling pretty terrible. She can’t sleep, she has a high fever, and she’s really congested. What would you recommend?
PHARMACIST: How long has she had these symptoms?
MARCUS: Since yesterday. It just hit her all of a sudden.
PHARMACIST: Okay, I’d suggest trying this cold and flu medicine. It’ll help with the fever, the congestion, and it should help her sleep too.
MARCUS: Perfect. Does she need to take it with food?
PHARMACIST: It’s better with food, yeah. She should take it every six hours, but no more than four times a day.
MARCUS: Got it. Anything else I should get for her?
PHARMACIST: Maybe some throat lozenges if her throat is sore. And make sure she drinks plenty of fluids and gets rest.
MARCUS: Great advice, thank you! I’ll grab the lozenges too.
PHARMACIST: Sure thing. And if she’s not feeling better in three or four days, she should really see a doctor.
MARCUS: Will do. Thanks so much for your help!PHARMACIST: You’re welcome! Hope she feels better soon!
