[School playground during recess. Paul and Mary are sitting on a bench]

Paul: Hey Mary, what does your dad do for work?

Mary: He’s a teacher. High school math. What about yours?

Paul: My dad’s an engineer. He designs bridges and stuff.

Mary: That’s cool! Is that what you want to do when you grow up?

Paul: Actually, no. I want to be a teacher, like your dad.

Mary: Really? How come?

Paul: I really love learning, and I think it would be fun to help kids understand things. Plus, teachers get summers off!

Mary: [laughs] That’s true! I want to be a doctor.

Paul: A doctor? Wow, that’s hard work!

Mary: I know, but I love science, and I want to help people stay healthy.

Paul: That’s awesome. You’d be a great doctor.

Mary: Thanks! And you’d be a great teacher. You’re always helping me with homework!

Paul: [laughs] I guess I’m already practicing!
