Two friends are chatting about their families.

Ethan: I’d like to know more about your family, Lily. What does your father do?

Lily: My father’s an airline pilot. He’s been flying for about twenty years. Right now, he’s on a flight from Kyiv to Berlin.

Ethan: Wow, that’s really interesting! And what about your mother? What does she do?

Lily: My mom’s an artist. She loves painting and drawing. She’s painted over a hundred pictures! At the moment, she’s working on a big painting of boats sailing on the ocean.

Ethan: That sounds beautiful. Do you have any brothers or sisters?

Lily: Yes, I do — one brother and one sister.

Ethan: What do they do?

Lily: My brother’s a teacher. He teaches biology and physics at a high school. He’s been teaching for five years, and this year he’s also coaching the school’s soccer team.

Ethan: That’s great! And what about your sister?

Lily: My sister’s a university student. She’s studying both law and business because she wants to become a lawyer. This summer, she’s working at a law office to get some experience.

Ethan: Wow, sounds like your family is really busy — and talented too!Lily: (smiling) Yeah, I guess we are!

Two friends are chatting about their families. Dois amigos estão conversando sobre suas famílias.

Ethan: I’d like to know more about your family, Lily. What does your father do? Ethan: Gostaria de saber mais sobre sua família, Lily. O que seu pai faz?

Lily: My father’s an airline pilot. He’s been flying for about twenty years. Right now, he’s on a flight from Kyiv to Berlin. Lily: Meu pai é piloto de avião. Ele voa há cerca de vinte anos. Agora mesmo, ele está em um voo de Kiev para Berlim.

Ethan: Wow, that’s really interesting! And what about your mother? What does she do? Ethan: Uau, isso é realmente interessante! E quanto à sua mãe? O que ela faz?
