Scene: An office break room on a Friday afternoon. Olivia and Marcus are getting coffee before they both leave for their vacations. They’re excited to share their travel plans.

Olivia: Hey Marcus! I heard you’re going on holiday next week. Where are you headed?

Marcus: Yeah, I’m flying to Tokyo! What about you? Looks like you’re taking time off too.

Olivia: I am! I’m going to Paris. So what’s on your list for Tokyo?

Marcus: I really want to go up the Tokyo Skytree—it’s one of the tallest towers in the world. The view must be incredible.

Olivia: That sounds amazing! Paris doesn’t have super tall buildings like that, but it has so much history. Some of the buildings are hundreds of years old. I’m planning to take a boat tour on the Seine River.

Marcus: Nice! I’m also doing a boat cruise—on the Sumida River. It goes right through the city.

Olivia: Oh, that’ll be beautiful. Paris has all these gorgeous palaces and monuments too. I’m definitely visiting Versailles and the Eiffel Tower.

Marcus: That’s on my bucket list! In Tokyo, I’m going to see a kabuki theater performance. Japanese theater is supposed to be really unique.

Olivia: I’m seeing a show too—there are so many great theaters in Paris. I haven’t decided which one yet.

Marcus: We both have great trips ahead! Have an amazing time.

Olivia: You too! Let’s catch up when we’re back and swap photos.Marcus: Deal!

54. Comparing our Travels 54. Comparando nossas Viagens

Scene: An office break room on a Friday afternoon. Olivia and Marcus are getting coffee before they both leave for their vacations. They’re excited to share their travel plans. Cena: Uma sala de descanso do escritório em uma tarde de sexta-feira. Olivia e Marcus estão pegando café antes de ambos saírem para suas férias. Eles estão animados para compartilhar seus planos de viagem.

Olivia: Hey Marcus! I heard you’re going on holiday next week. Where are you headed? Olivia: Ei Marcus! Ouvi dizer que você vai de férias na próxima semana. Para onde você está indo?

Marcus: Yeah, I’m flying to Tokyo! What about you? Looks like you’re taking time off too. Marcus: Sim, estou voando para Tóquio! E você? Parece que você também está tirando folga.

Olivia: I am! I’m going to Paris. So what’s on your list for Tokyo? Olivia: Estou sim! Estou indo para Paris. Então, o que está na sua lista para Tóquio?
