Scene: Inside a cheerful pet shop. A young boy walks in and looks around excitedly.

Chloe (Store Clerk): Hi there! How can I help you today?

Ethan (Customer): Hi! I’m here to buy a pet.

Chloe: That’s great! What kind of pet are you interested in?

Ethan: Do you have any dogs?

Chloe: Yes, of course! Are you looking for a specific breed?

Ethan: Not really — just one that would make a good companion.

Chloe: We have quite a few friendly ones! Why don’t you come take a look?

Ethan: Sure!

(Chloe leads Ethan to the area where the dogs are kept.)

Chloe: Would you like a big dog or something smaller?

Ethan: Hmm… maybe a medium-sized one. What about this one here?

Chloe: Oh, I’m sorry — that dog’s already been sold. The new owner will be picking him up later today.

Ethan: Oh, that’s too bad. He’s so adorable! Do you have any others about the same size?

Chloe: Yes, we do — right over there. (She points to another kennel.)

Ethan: Aww, he’s perfect! I want to take him home right now!

Chloe: That’s wonderful! Would you like to pick up some food or toys for him, too?

Ethan: Definitely! I’ll come back in about an hour with my mom, and we’ll decide what to get then.

Chloe: Sounds good! See you soon, Ethan.Ethan: Thanks! Bye for now!

13. Getting a Pet 13. Conseguindo um Animal de Estimação

Scene: Inside a cheerful pet shop. A young boy walks in and looks around excitedly. Cena: Dentro de uma alegre loja de animais. Um menino entra e olha ao redor animadamente.

Chloe (Store Clerk): Hi there! How can I help you today? Chloe (Atendente da Loja): Olá! Como posso ajudá-lo hoje?

Ethan (Customer): Hi! I’m here to buy a pet. Ethan (Cliente): Oi! Estou aqui para comprar um animal de estimação.

Chloe: That’s great! What kind of pet are you interested in? Chloe: Que ótimo! Em que tipo de animal de estimação você está interessado?

Ethan: Do you have any dogs? Ethan: Vocês têm cachorros?

Chloe: Yes, of course! Are you looking for a specific breed? Chloe: Sim, claro! Você está procurando uma raça específica?

Ethan: Not really — just one that would make a good companion. Ethan: Na verdade não — só um que seria um bom companheiro.

Chloe: We have quite a few friendly ones! Why don’t you come take a look? Chloe: Temos vários amigáveis! Por que você não vem dar uma olhada?

Ethan: Sure! Ethan: Claro!

(Chloe leads Ethan to the area where the dogs are kept.) (Chloe leva Ethan até a área onde os cachorros ficam.)

Chloe: Would you like a big dog or something smaller? Chloe: Você gostaria de um cachorro grande ou algo menor?

Ethan: Hmm… maybe a medium-sized one. What about this one here? Ethan: Hmm… talvez um de tamanho médio. Que tal este aqui?

Chloe: Oh, I’m sorry — that dog’s already been sold. The new owner will be picking him up later today. Chloe: Ah, sinto muito — esse cachorro já foi vendido. O novo dono vai buscá-lo mais tarde hoje.

Ethan: Oh, that’s too bad. He’s so adorable! Do you have any others about the same size? Ethan: Ah, que pena. Ele é tão adorável! Vocês têm outros mais ou menos do mesmo tamanho?

Chloe: Yes, we do — right over there. (She points to another kennel.) Chloe: Sim, temos — bem ali. (Ela aponta para outro canil.)

Ethan: Aww, he’s perfect! I want to take him home right now! Ethan: Aww, ele é perfeito! Quero levá-lo para casa agora mesmo!

Chloe: That’s wonderful! Would you like to pick up some food or toys for him, too? Chloe: Que maravilha! Você gostaria de pegar alguma comida ou brinquedos para ele também?

Ethan: Definitely! I’ll come back in about an hour with my mom, and we’ll decide what to get then. Ethan: Definitivamente! Vou voltar em cerca de uma hora com minha mãe, e vamos decidir o que pegar então.

Chloe: Sounds good! See you soon, Ethan. Chloe: Parece bom! Vejo você em breve, Ethan.

Ethan: Thanks! Bye for now! Ethan: Obrigado! Tchau por enquanto!
